Students do not use Pinterest during class. Or at least it won’t be extremely discouraged to do so.
The social media app is experimenting with prompts for US and Canadian users between the ages of 13 (the minimum age of account holder) to 17 to close the app and pause notifications at typical school hours (Monday through Friday 8am to 3pm). Pinterest confirms in an email to Mashable that the prompts reach “millions of” school-age users, and the wide range of experiments aims to better inform the app’s team. This comes after Pinterest CEO Bill Ready announces its online safety laws for children and support for schools without phones Policy Washington Post.
“Focus is beautiful” The prompt says according to The Verge. “Down Pinterest and pause notifications and stay for the moment [sic] Until the school bell rings. ”

Instagram will limit teenagers to live as teenage accounts expand to Facebook and Messenger.
Pinterest also announced its partnership on Tuesday with the International Association of Educational Technology to develop digital citizenship and happiness action plans through the newly established Digital Innovation Wellbeing Task Force.
“We believe that at Pinterest we believe schools can take advantage of everything they have to offer to students. “Tech companies need to work with teachers, parents and policy makers to build solutions that fall within the hands of students. Smartphones are a tool, not a distraction.”
