House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) suddenly cancels all votes for the rest of the week, including measures to halt progress on important conservative laws, including acts of relief, and curb judicial activities – despite having full authority to keep the house in session.
The move comes after a humiliating defeat on the house floor when Johnson tried to torpedoise a controversial rule that would allow new Congressional parents to vote remotely.
On this, Locking Johnson and Horn, Luna celebrated the outcome as a “historic day” and cried out, “My parents deserve voices in Washington.”
In partnership with Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.), who paraded babies on the floor of the house on Tuesday, the duo were able to collect 218 signatures, including 11 Republicans, to force the matter through discharge petitions.
Discharge petitions are a procedural tool that allows lawmakers to bring bills to the House floor if they avoid leadership and secure signing from the majority of members.
Some conservatives call the betrayal of Congressman Luna’s deaf, selfish, and hardworking Americans elected to represent them.
One angry voter I wrote it on social media, “Self-interested behavior by the Congress led by @Repluna. I’m disappointed because I had to return to work two weeks after my three children, as I couldn’t afford to go without food for my three children.
Another conservative voice echoed. Feelings: “Congress is supposed to represent Americans. Most Americans work full-time. Sometimes they do two jobs! We’ve stole your hard-earned taxes and let you watch as you kick and do nothing!”
Popular conservative commentator:catturd“I couldn’t control it either: “One week for Democrats and Republicans in Congress, another week has been done to help Trump, and everything happened here: another week of a rogue judge destroying the Magazine agenda.
Political commentator Nick Sort also Blasted the movement, write: “This week, a handful of Republicans blocked all remaining housing votes because they want to force their ability to vote from home. Reminders to Congress: This isn’t about you. You work for the people of America.
Johnson’s counter punch on Luna’s controversial bill? Despicable rules are tweaked to crush the petition. It backfired spectacularly.
The fallout was quick. Once nine Republicans crossed the aisle and joined 213 Democrats, the rules vote collapsed, freeing up bills like the Save Act and excluded measures to curb activist judges targeting Trump. Johnson’s reaction? Tack the tail and pack the lawmakers until Monday.
“A handful of Republicans joined all House Democrats and overthrew control,” Johnson posted. “This means we can’t take any more action on President Trump’s agenda this week. There’s no save law. There’s no vote to deal with Judge Rogue attacking Trump. There’s no vote to abolish Biden’s restrictions,” Johnson wrote.

That’s true He allowed it.
According to a recent report from Congressional Procedure Experts and a recent report, Johnson has retained the power to nurture new rules, resume floor action and immediately prioritize the Republican agenda.
Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News wrote: “Of course, this is a choice. They can raise a Save Act anytime without rules. They can go back to the rules. It’s Tuesday!!
The house was voted that week. It’s Tuesday. They’ll be back on Monday.
Of course, this is a choice. They can always develop a save method without rules.
They can go back to the rules. It’s only Tuesday!!
But they will be done the following week @Realannapaulina beat…

Johnson’s choice, with four legislative days and two weeks of leave coming up, scheduled only four days next week, is being blown up as political misconduct.
Instead of reorganizing and charging forward, the speakers handed the iconic victory to progressively, leaving them dry to Trump’s allies when America’s future was in balance.
