Winners Alliance, a commercial partner of the World Cricketers’ Association (WCA), today announced it is partnering with NextWave Multimedia to bring Pro Cricket Players to the Mobile World Cricket Championship franchise. NextWave, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies and a developer behind the franchise, will integrate the names and likenesses of more than 500 professional cricketers into the game as part of the licensing agreement.
NextWave now incorporates licensed players into World Cricket Championship 3, with more players appearing later that month. The developers will also launch new entries for the series’ World Cricket Championship 4 later this year. The Winners Alliance said that as part of the licensing agreement, players can use likeness to generate passive income.
In a statement, Eric Winston, president of the Winners Alliance, said: “The NextWave Multimedia license is a great example of long-term athlete-centric collaboration that the winner alliance promises to create. Cricketers, and all professional athletes, need to maximize value. It will increase fan engagement opportunities and value throughout the cricket ecosystem.”
Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies, said, “Integrating more than 500 integrations of the world’s top cricketers into the WCC is an important milestone for us. Our goal has been to create an immersive, authentic sports gaming experience and interactive ways.”
