lightspeed studioTencent, a division of Tencent, announced the establishment of a new game development studio, Lightspeed Japan Studio, led by game director Hideaki Itsuno.
The studio will focus on developing original triple-A action game titles and marks a major step in Lightspeed Studios’ global expansion. The new studio will have offices in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
Mr. Itsuno was born in Osaka and is a former Capcom veteran who not only planned the “Street Fighter Alpha” series, but also directed franchise series such as “Rival School,” “Power Stone,” and “Capcom VS.” SNK, Devil May Cry, Dragon’s Dogma.
