Key further explained, “I think our evolution is tied to both of our aspirations. His aspiration was to venture into the horror genre and my aspiration was to do more dramatic work, as I was trained to do in school. We both made the jump to different platforms.”
The comedy duo appeared on Fox’s Mad TV In 2004, Key told the outlet that the two were living together as they developed a working partnership.
“We lived together for a few months, writing and talking about comedy — who we love and why, and how that played into the structure of what we were trying to build as a comedy,” Key said, adding that he and Peele “shared a creative language” and their chemistry was “like alchemy.”
