Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw his 500th career touchdown pass with a 5-yard scoring pass to Tyler Conklin in the second quarter of the season’s final game against the visiting Miami Dolphins on Sunday.5 He became the number one player.
The milestone touchdown throw came in what could be the last game of Rodgers’ 20-year NFL career.
Rodgers joins Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508) in the high-end club.
Tight end Conklin found his crease in the end zone, but was wide open when Rodgers connected with 7:57 left in the second quarter. Rodgers joined his teammates celebrating in the end zone, and Conklin gave him the ball.
Rodgers threw No. 501 late in the second quarter against the Dolphins in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with a 13-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Allen Lazard for a 15-6 lead.
Rodgers, 41, has scored 475 touchdowns with the Green Bay Packers, the rest with the Jets.
Rodgers’ future is a hot topic. He said he doesn’t know if he will play a 21st season, but suggested that if he decides to play in 2025, it probably won’t be with the Jets.
