Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), currently the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, abstained from the election to protect his job, and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) will be the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. Become the top.
Below is Congressman Nadler’s letter to his colleagues.

“Jerry Nadler is an extraordinary lawyer, patriot, and public servant. His tenacious defense of civil rights and civil liberties is a great inspiration to our people,” said Congressman Raskin. I am honored and humbled to have his support in my upcoming fight.”
The ranking Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are expected to be the first line of defense against Trump.. Because the advisory and consent role is limited to the Senate, Mr. Raskin has no role in the confirmation process for Mr. Trump’s nominees, but Mr. Raskin has no role in the confirmation process for Mr. Trump’s nominees. Becomes the agency’s top investigator.
Mr. Raskin is the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee and led the pushback against the committee’s Chairman James Comer’s investigation into President Biden.. Raskin tied Comer up in a knot and made the Kentucky Republican look incompetent.
This is a major promotion for Congressman Raskin, and represents a leadership pushback against Trump’s younger age as the Judicial Democratic Party replaces the leadership of Nadler, who is nearly 80 years old, with Raskin, who is in his 60s.
Mr. Raskin is also a constitutional law expert and would be best placed to lead the House Democratic pushback against Mr. Trump.
There’s Jamie Raskin. Taking a more visible position is an encouraging step for the Democratic Party as it organizes against the incoming administration.
