First, battery life. The HP laptop lasted well over 14 hours on a single charge before I had to rush to the charger. Note that this number was achieved by running ZDNET’s standardized battery tests. and without turning on battery saver mode. With the latter enabled, I’m sure it can last up to the 20-hour HP rating. What this means is that you can take your HP Elitebook x360 with you to work or as a third place without worrying about whether your laptop will break. You can leave the charger at home all day long.
What’s surprising is that this model doesn’t run on Snapdragon X Elite hardware, a chipset known for its long lifespan. Instead, it runs on Intel Core Ultra 7 165U. The hardware showed impressive numbers during our graphics tests, so no power was sacrificed to preserve battery life. I have never experienced any performance degradation. Even with 60 tabs open and multiple videos playing simultaneously, the HP Elitebook x360 kept everything running smoothly.
To get a better idea of what this laptop can do, I ran a few benchmark tests. Geekbench showed that the laptop performed well under typical workloads, earning the highest score of 12,059 points. It delivers about the same level of performance as a computer with the more powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. This is amazing.
When it comes to design, HP’s laptops pass the eye test. It’s relatively slim and lightweight, weighing about 3 pounds. Thanks to its aluminum construction, the device is also quite durable. I’m also a fan of keyboards. Each chiclet-shaped key is soft to the touch and has plenty of space between keys. And it’s all built on a solid foundation. All combined makes for a very comfortable typing experience.
The HP Elitebook x360 has seven inputs around the body. What I like about this arrangement is that the USB-C ports are on both sides, two on the left and one on the right. Having a setup like this is perfect because you don’t have to wrap a charging cable around your device to charge it. Convenience is highly valued.
There is one downside, and this is my nitpick. The laptop fails the one-finger lift test. Lift the display and the device will slide back.

I thought the touch screen was OK. The display outputs a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200, so the image quality isn’t the best. Additionally, the display isn’t very bright either, at 400 nits at best. HP covered the glass in its latest Elitebook models with an anti-glare coating to maintain clarity. It’s okay indoors. However, due to the low brightness, the screen looks bad in direct sunlight. On the positive side, the display supports the entire sRGB color gamut, so colors are very vibrant.
Finally, the audio system of this machine is also one of its highlights. This hardware is offered by HP’s PolyStudio brand and was made specifically for video calling. The speakers output immersive audio so powerful that you’ll be enveloped in a bubble of sound. These consist of four separate drivers with “discrete amplifiers” to further boost the output.

Next to them, there is also a pair of individual microphones that can pick up the best sound. The camera has a 5MP lens and typically shoots at 1080p. I usually criticize this by saying the resolution is too low, but I actually found this camera to be able to record a much better 1440p.
