Jordan Chile dealt with a heartbreak after the Parisio Philosophy, where her individual bronze medals were cancelled due to scoring controversy. Recently, Americans recalled her initial reaction to learning devastating news.
Chiles launched the campaign in the 2024 game by helping USA win gold at team events. She then individually qualified for the Floor Exercise Final. In the final, the Americans first posted 13.666 to get fifth place, but after a survey, her score rose to 13.766, then third ahead of Romanian Anaborvos.
However, after the game, the CAS stripped her maiden of individual Olympic medals from Chile after determining that the investigation was submitted outside the time limit required. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Jordan Chiles recalled her initial reaction to learning that she lost an Olympic medal.
“When I got it, I was in the car. When something happens, can you hear everything around you disappear and your heart beating?
“After that happened, I wasn’t OK. I was in the ditch. It was tough, but in the end I had to put it on the back burner.
Since being stripped of bronze, Chile and her attorneys have filed an appeal with the Swiss Supreme Court to overturn CAS’s decision.
