Even though Democrats talk about “our democracy,” they have a terrible track record when it comes to certifying Republican victories. They always disagree, but today everyone expected it.
Amazingly, that doesn’t happen today, the first time since 1988. Can you believe it?
There’s an important flashback here.

Everything was different this time.
WJLA News Reported:
Congress certifies President Trump’s election victory without objection
Lawmakers quickly certified President-elect Donald Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the November election in an uncontested ceremony, setting the stage for his return to the White House in two weeks. Ta.
The largely ceremonial event came after the president left office in defeat in the wake of the Capitol riot four years ago, when some Republicans questioned whether they would find a new figure to lead the party forward. The move then brought the country one step closer to the climax of Trump’s return to power.
Two weeks before President Trump returns to the White House on January 20 and is sworn in as the 47th president, Congress immediately certifies Trump’s 312-226 Electoral College victory over Harris without objection. did…
The certification was overseen by Harris. Harris, who is constitutionally obligated to preside over a joint session of Congress to formally count the Electoral College votes, was another stark reminder of her election loss to Trump. Since losing the election, she has rarely been seen in public as she considers what her future holds, including the possibility of running for president again.
People took note of the historical aspects on Twitter/x.
Today marked the first time since 1988 that no Democratic member of Congress opposed a Republican presidential candidate’s victory.

This is the first time since 1988 that the Democratic Party has accepted a presidential election defeat. (For example, in 2000, via SCOTUS, Bush said he was “elected, not elected”; in 2004, he claimed that Karl Rove had rigged voting machines in Ohio; in 2016) Trump stole voting machines (along with collusion with Russia)

I have to thank the Democratic Party for finally accepting the election results for the first time in my life.

This time it’s really “too big to equip” and everyone seems to know it.
