Kristen Welker:
Now, let me ask you about another candidate, Tulsi Gabbard, who President-elect Trump has chosen to be Director of National Intelligence. Your former colleague in the House of Commons, of course. Here’s what Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to say about her this week. Please take a look.
[START TAPE]
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz:
Tulsi Gabbard is the person who met with war criminals, violated State Department guidance, and secretly traveled to Syria to meet with President Assad, who gassed his own people and attacked them with chemical weapons. According to most assessments, she is considered to be essentially a Russian asset.
[END TAPE]
Kristen Welker:
Jeffries Leader, do you agree that she is a Russian dignitary?
Congressman Hakeem Jeffries:
Here’s what I have to say about some of the nominations made by the president-elect, including the one mentioned by Debbie Wasserman Schultz. During his campaign, the president-elect promised the American people the best economy, the best border security, and the best government possible. The question that must be asked is: Is this the best we can do in the American context? What are some of these candidates? In a moment like this, with so many challenges facing us, is this the best America can offer? Of course not. America deserves better. Hopefully we’ll see Senate Republicans do their job and vet these nominees and make sure to approve the ones that meet the basic qualification level and reject the others. .

Republicans had better get used to hearing this because Democrats are going to keep him on his promises. The economy that voters voted against weeks ago now belongs to Donald Trump. So every decision he makes will be under the microscope of is this a good thing for the American people?
Gone are the days when the Republican Party had to do nothing but criticize.
Soon, the Republican Party will be responsible for everything, including Donald Trump.
