New York Yankees pitcher Devin Williams continued his struggles in the 2025 season during his recent game against the San Diego Padres. In the Monday Night Series opener, the Yankees took a 3-0 lead by the end of their seventh innings.
In the eighth time, Williams took the mound and loaded the base before being replaced by Luke Weaver. The Padres capitalized and overtook the Yankees, eventually securing a 4-3 victory.

Devin Williams joined the New York Yankees in December 2024 through trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. In an interview with the Yes Network, Williams recalls his outing against the San Diego Padres, saying:
“Both walks were obviously not something you were trying to do, but I was fighting there at the landing point… it’s hard to control my fastball today.”
“I feel good, I’m confident in the mound. I felt like I was in a good place. It was one of the nights you were fighting the mound, not just against the batters.
In the 2025 season, Devin Williams scored a 10.03 ERA and 0-2 record, giving up 15 runs in 14 appearances.
