Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene used her position as chairman of the Doge subcommittee to hold hearings on keeping trans athletes out of women’s sports and attempted to misrepresent Damian Lehfeldt’s USA Fencing board chair.

Green was caught up in a question while ranking member MP Melanie Stansbury (D-NM).
Greene said, “I’ll repeat, this is not Stansbury. Stansbury, this is not the point of order. This is an actual painting. Stansbury, Stansbury, Stansbury, you are not recognized. You are not recognized.
Stansbury continues, Madame Chairman, you are not. This is not the point of order. Stansbury, this is not the point of order. What the committee does is you misrepresent the witness. You are misrepresenting your policy. You are misrepresenting this committee. ”
Green continued to throw tantrums. “Mr. Stansbury. You don’t recognize this. You’re not recognized. That’s not the point of order. You’re abused the rules of this committee.”
Green was using her Doge platform to hold hearings about sports transathletes. What should sports trans athletes do to government efficiency?

It appears that Greene was using the hearing to advance her potential run either in the US Senate or the governor of Georgia.
Green is definitely considering running to another office, and seems desperate for more power and a bigger platform.
Rep. Greene tried to argue that the hearing was to protect women from sports trans-athletes, but the true intentions of the hearing were clear. Green was trying to use the issue of culture wars and give himself a platform for a potential 2026 campaign.
Democrats knew what she was going to do and they turned the hearing into a completely backfire.
