Great new movie directed by Terrence Malickhidden lifeis a story about Blessed Franz Jägerstätter, an Austrian peasant who was martyred for refusing to swear allegiance to Hitler. James Majewski joins Thomas to discuss the film. He reads an excerpt from Bl. Take a look at Franz’s letters and prison writings to see how faithful Malick’s portrayal is to the real-life saint. The letters of Franz and his wife Franziska testify to their deep religious life and prove how much Franz’s heroism owed to the sacraments and the support of good priests not seen in the film.

Franz J.ägerstätter: Letters and writings from prisoned. Erna Putz is published by Orbis Books, a publisher that publishes a significant amount of heretical and dissident material. The Letter is worth reading, but I recommend buying a used book rather than supporting its publisher.
