Adrianne Lenker has released a new album called a new live album I live in Revolution HallIt will be released on April 25th. 4ad. Big Thief Vocalist who recently released Studio LP A bright futuretracked it with three performances while on tour of the album. It spans 43 tracks, including five unreleased songs. Engineer Andrew Sarlo discusses the live album, saying:
It was impossible to do this album without the immeasurable love and respect I have for a friend. Seeing the power of music and penetration is a bit like “I said that”, but I’m still amazed every time. I’ll cheer from the bystanders. This live album is another generous product from Adrianne. Play countless songs. Some new, some rare, some favorites, and in front of the audience and behind the scenes. There have been attempts to create a different spin on what the live album is, clocking it in about 120 minutes featuring songs and vignettes recorded only on reels and cassette tapes. Recorded over three days during our “Bright Future” tour, we had a friendship in focus and made this a loving memorial from one friend to another. Close your eyes, feel comfortable and listen as if you’re watching a movie! (Active listening is rewarded by revealing layers of details within the capture…) Be happy to listen.
