As the world’s second-largest greenhouse gas leader, Trump has made a decision that has devastated global efforts to protect future generations.
A tenth of the warming has more and more dangerous outcomes, from hot days to increased risk of wildfires. Without immediate action to reduce emissions, millions of people will suffer, and the poorest countries will bear the heaviest burden.
Trump’s choice to abandon critical climate goals is an objectively reckless move that denis the moral responsibility of our country to combat climate change. The United States cannot retreat from climate advancements. There is common sense that tackling this crisis requires a globally unified front.
There was no more important time than coming together and committing to moving forward with global climate justice. We can and must continue to fight.
